Covering: Hillhead, Dowanhill, Hyndland, Kelvinside, Kelvindale.

The local landmark: The University of Glasgow's Gilbert Scott tower and the Kibble Palace glasshouse in the Botanic Gardens.

Students: The University of Glasgow's main Gilmorehill campus, its library and both student unions are all inside G12.

On the ground: Tenement closes in Hillhead and Hyndland and large townhouse conversions in Kelvinside, so expect stairs, bay windows and tight permit parking. If your place means stairs with no lift, choose Assisted and the two-person crew carries everything (£15 per end for 2nd or 3rd floor, £30 for 4th and up).

While you wait for the van: The Kibble Palace began life as John Kibble's private conservatory at Coulport on Loch Long and was shipped up the Clyde by barge in 1873 to be rebuilt in the Botanic Gardens.
