Covering: Stirling city centre, King's Park, Raploch, Gargunnock, Kippen, Aberfoyle.

The local landmark: Stirling Castle dominates the skyline from its volcanic crag above the old town.

Students: Forth Valley College's Stirling campus is on Drip Road, and University of Stirling students often rent flats around the city centre.

On the ground: The old town means steep streets, cobbles and tenement stairs, while King's Park has villas with driveways and the west is village lanes and farmland. If your place means stairs with no lift, choose Assisted and the two-person crew carries everything (£15 per end for 2nd or 3rd floor, £30 for 4th and up).

While you wait for the van: The infant James VI was crowned in Stirling's Church of the Holy Rude in 1567, with John Knox preaching the sermon.
