Covering: Walkerburn, Holylee, West Bold.
The local landmark: The River Tweed runs along the foot of the village, which grew up around the Ballantyne tweed mills.
On the ground: Hillside mill terraces above the A72, with some steep and narrow streets. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: Walkerburn was purpose built in 1854 by the mill owner Henry Ballantyne to house the workers of his new tweed mill.
